My first experiment with jute as a handlebar wrap. This is just a test and it went okay. I need to research the best way to secure the ends. It also wants to spread out on the outer curves, but you can’t see the bar unless you look really close. I’m not sure how to correct that without having to secure each individual twist with glue before moving to the next one. And this jute was cheap, very uneven in width.
Other questions?
- How will this feel on my hands? Is having to wear gloves worth the aesthetic affect?
- Maybe the aesthetic affect is shit. My plan was to dye the jute black.
- Will it hold up in weather? If it gets wet will it rot, mildew, etc.?
